Assurance

Do you ever feel your beliefs and faith is a bunch of lies? Or you doubt your salvation? Satan puts those thoughts through every believers mind. Listen to these encouraging thoughts from Richard Sibbes:
The evidences whereby we may come to know that Christ's judgement in us is such as will be victorius are:
Having reasons of religion the strongest reasons with us, prevailing more than reasons fetched from worldly policy.
Being able to 'do nothing against the truth, but for the truth' (2 Cor. 13.8), the truth being dearer to us than our lives. Truth does not have this sovereignty in the heart of any carnal man.

Meditate

To engage in contemplation or reflection/ to focus one's thoughts on/ reflect or ponder over/ to plan or project in the mind. These are definitions from Webster's Dictionary for meditate. So when the Bible says to meditate on the Word, do you kind of see what that means? It's kind of like when you play a really good game and then the rest of the day you are thinking about that and how good it was etc.. I usually find myself meditating on my highest priorities. That's a good way to see what exactly are your highest priorities.

Convictions

Often we hear the expression, "well if that's your conviction that's fine." Or "Different people have different convictions" and sometimes, "we all struggle with different things, what is wrong for me might be okay for you." I used to believe these, because hey, some of us don't struggle with a lot of things. Right? Well how about people who can watch movies with extreme violence, cursing or immodesty? How can they still be Christians? Well I believe many people are just very hardened, violence, language, and immodesty don't go against grain with the Holy Spirit. I think the more we abstain from things that go against the grain, the more things go against the grain. The problem is, we are so hardened that things are tearing us down without us even knowing it. Don't smother the Holy Spirit.

Accessory God

I have been reading throught Judges, and those of you who have read it would probably agree with me. Many times the Israelites used God as an accessory. They worshipped other gods until they felt they needed God. Then they called upon him. Sometimes they even put God in line with their other idols! Many times in my life I find myself doing the same, putting other things before God but still trying to use Him. But that isn't the way it should be, He should be using us.
