Proverbs 7

In Proverbs chapter 7 it mentions guarding the things taught to you as the apple of your eye. I believe this is saying that your convictions should be strong and when someone offends them, it is like touching the eye, immediate reflex. As soon as we hear a contradiction we know isn't in line with the Bible, we are ready to defend with verses and such. Not that we are to yell at everyone who goes cussing down the street, but rather be ready with verses to back up these convictions.

Psalms

I think the Psalms were specifically written to be encouragement and praises to God, a place where Christians go when they are discouraged or delighted in the LORD. Recently they have been a great help to me in my daily life. I don't read them along with my devotional time with the LORD but rather when I feel the Spirit move me to do so.
