Rigid Stepping Stones
When disciplining someone or helping one through a difficult sin there is a balance of how to do it. We don't have a set of Rigid Stepping Stones set out for us in the Bible that tells us how to deal with all kinds of sin. However, there is one key verse that really points out the answer to where to draw the line. James 3:6b states that we need to give law to the proud and grace to the humble. Previously when I read this verse it blew over my head. But after watching the Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron evangilistic series I have finally come to an understanding of what this verse is saying. Those who don't recognize there sin need to be shown it by use of the law (Ten Commandments). Once they see it, grace is used to set them free.We don't cram it down their throats!
