I was reading in 1 Peter today about Christ being our cornerstone. Let me ask you this, how many buildings are you building? It should be just one, with Christ as the cornerstone, but the other buildings, what are their cornerstones?
yup, we try so often to "build" our own "buildings" on things of this world. But these buildings will one day pass away because we didn't build them on the one true Cornerstone, Jesus Christ. He alone is the builder, perfecter, and cornerstone of our faith.
Ooh, great point! This is a good point to argue with those who support a particular denomination. Aren't all true Christians building on the Rock of Christ? Should we build any other building, or build on the foundation of the Christ and the Apostles? Should we say, "I'm of Paul" or "I of Apollos"? Of course not! Christ is not divided.
I have another verse to go with yours; it was on my mind because we talked about it this week in Sunday school:
So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God's household, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit." - Ephesians 2:19-22 (NASB)
Yeah, I agree with you both. Why waste my time building a bunch of small buildings that won't accomplish much at all, when I can build a skyscraper to point others to Christ.
It's been 20 years since I entered into the World, currently I'm attending a trade school. I like to do a lot of stuff which include, Computer Generation, Growing in Christ, music and fellowshiping with people (especially with food!)
